The first blog cuts the deepest. I would like this blog to be positive and I look forward to receiving comments to this and future blogs. Why do I say I would like it to be positive? Well that is because I am writing this at the end of a long day and sometimes the cynic arises within me. You will see in most of my blogs that I do not have a lot of patience when Safety is over done by anybody, particularly fellow practitioners and those who make things more difficult than they are. Although, we all know that good and detailed Safe Systems of Works are key in safety management there are often times when I review safety documentation that is 10 times more complex and 10 times times larger than it needs to be. I remember my old A level Biology teacher describing some of the exams papers he marked-he described some of the students as using the "scatter gun approach" in answering questions.
